Arretado's Rib Burger
As a trained engineer, Beto has done it all in his life – he has been a restaurant owner and an app driver – but it was grilling burgers on an adapted motorcycle that he finally found peace. “I’ve always loved cooking, even my fried eggs were different,” he says. And the burger he now sells at his Arretado Bistro is indeed different. While serving traditional homemade beef patties, his most successful invention is an unorthodox sandwich. Beto grills a piece of seasoned beef rib, which has been marinated for hours, right on the motorcycle. Then, he slices it into small pieces and fills a hamburger bun, adding lettuce, mayonnaise, tomato, and a special sauce of the customer’s choice – mustard, tomato jam, or sweet and sour caramelized onion sauce. “We don’t make it all the time, it’s seasonal because it requires good meat,” he explains. Some customers try to replicate the unique flavor at home, but “those who try always come back complaining that they couldn’t recreate it.”
