The “Café Regional,” which is the breakfast served on the streets of Manaus, is a tradition in the city. Seu Giovani’s Café, located in Praça do Eldorado, has been successful for almost 16 years, and its flagship item is the X-Caboquinho, a sandwich made with French bread, queijo coalho (a type of cheese), fried banana, and tucumã, a typical fruit from the Northern Region. As his clientele is loyal, the attendants already know the daily orders of the customers, as well as their preferences. In addition to X-Caboquinho, Giovanni’s stall also serves tapiocas, porridges, and cakes, all carefully prepared by him and his wife.
