Pot Cakes by Little Famous

Recife

In the neighborhood where they live, on the outskirts of Recife, everyone knows Diego and Guilherme, friends who sell their pot cakes on the streets in a creative and unforgettable way: singing loudly and with enthusiasm funny parodies of pop songs, where the theme is always, of course, pot cakes. But the parodies go beyond and play with their own sexuality – Diego is gay and Guilherme is transgender: “These little cakes are delicious, they are sold by the queens, beautiful in the dark and trying to be artists,” they sing, to the delight of their customers. The cakes, available in flavors such as brigadeiro, prestígio (chocolate and coconut), lemon, and bem casado (a Brazilian wedding sweet), are made at home by Diego with the help of a friend and sold in plastic containers which, as the vendor duo chants in unison, “are for recycling, to store paprika, cumin, costume jewelry…” The customer pays for the cake but gets the container and the show for free It’s guaranteed entertainment.
