Kássio never rests: he walks along the beach offering tastings of his fruit cocktails to beachgoers and promoting his drinks. Chatty and talkative, the former tennis instructor traded the resort where he worked for a beach cart, where he was the first to create a mobile bar, an idea now copied by many street vendors in Porto de Galinhas. Among cocktails, alcohol-free mocktails, and fruit juices, the great success of his mobile kiosk, named Amostrada Drinks, is the Hula-Hula, a cocktail made with condensed milk in strawberry, blackberry, and passion fruit versions. The customer can choose the drink base: champagne, wine, cachaça, vodka, or rum. Served in a decorated pineapple, complete with a piece of pineapple on a stick, the drink is a hit on the sand, “perfect for taking photos and posting on Instagram,” as he jokes. Kássio’s friendliness and conversation are complimentary: “I love working on the beach, it’s fun, and you get to meet so many people.”
